Eh, anyone that boycots france, or replaces the word french with freedom in foods is a f*cktard that should be skewered to death. They're still our allies, opposing views or not.
I also think it's hilarious that while they laugh at us, their country is being burned to the ground by its own people. xD
Personally, I agree with a good deal of what Bush is doing. I agree with his plan in Iraq, people say how much we don't belong there, but I knew someone who fought in Iraq. He was killed in action, but he told us that he, along with his entire patrol team, were proud to be fighting for this. He stood outside the polls on the day of the first free elections. He saw the voters coming out, thumbs stained with ink, crying with joy because they were able to vote. Did you know the voter turnout for that election? >90%. The average American turnout for a presidential election: 50%-70%. People don't vote sometimes because it's raining. These people voted when the knew that going to the polls meant they might be KILLED.
I don't care how the media decides to turn this so they can profit more for it, but we are fighting for a nation not unlike ours when it first started. However, these people deserved freedom because they were being oppressed, we wanted freedom because the British were being mean and imposing hard taxes on us. You're going to say great, let Iraq fight for their own freedom, nobody helped us. WRONG. The French are the only reason we were able to defeat the massively superior British, and we didn't even have to deal with and army of insurgents living in our country, just easily identifiable British soldiers. Saying we have no business there is simply hypocritical.
(Sorry thats pretty disorganized argument, my brains pretty tired of working, we just finished exam week.)
By the way, we are not a democracy. The United States is a republic.
